Innovative Solutions to Management
Issues
Headquartered in Los Angeles since 1986, KH
Consulting Group (KH), a general management consulting firm, offers
services in: strategic planning, innovation, and marketing; organizational
planning, design, and development; human resources; business reorganization and
financial restructuring; and information systems (I/S). Our assistance is
effective because of our consultants' expertise and familiarity with similar
problems and responses in a variety of settings. To date, KH has served more
than 150 clients in 24 states and the District of Columbia in the United States
and in foreign countries on 5 different continents. In these dynamic times,
boards, corporate executives, educational leaders, elected officials, and
public sector administrators retain KH because of their need to:
- Bring about change from
within
- Accomplish specific
initiatives despite internal time pressures and staff constraints
- Remain or become regional,
state, national, or international leaders in their industry or markets (and
potentially to counter competitive actions that might erode their current
market position)
- Acquire special expertise
and tools
- Solicit a fresh perspective,
as well as independence, objectivity, and discretion
- Bypass both "politics" and
natural resistance to examination and change, particularly in environments with
diverse agendas
- Solicit external,
professional opinions without the risk of prejudice (i.e., internal managers
may be defensive when their operations are under review)
- Obtain insights into "best
practices" and "lessons learned" at other comparable companies and
organizations
- Have nothing taken for
granted, including data that might otherwise be overlooked or unused (e.g.,
consultants can ask "dumb questions," such as "why are you doing that task that
way?")
- Leverage respected external
authorities before their boards or executive team.
Since its
inception, KH has been serving both public and private sector
clients.
- Private sector industries
served. Our private sector clients represent a spectrum of industries,
including: aerospace; agriculture; apparel; entertainment; financial services;
food; health care; high technology; information technology; insurance; mail
order; manufacturing; office supplies; oil refining; professional services
(law, consulting, and engineering firms); real estate; retailing;
telecommunications; timber and lumber; transportation; and utilities (electric
and gas).
- Public sector
organizations served. Our public sector clients include airports, the arts,
colleges and universities, federal government, city and county government,
not-for-profit organizations, public health care, ports, public schools, and
public utilities (water and electric).
- Quasi-public/private
sector organizations. Among our clients are many quasi-public/private
entities - e.g., enterprise governmental agencies (utilities, ports, or Federal
banks); Public Utility Commission (PUC) regulated companies (utilities,
telecommunication companies, etc.); and educational enterprises facing stiff
competition. These entities must apply private sector business strategies and
techniques to remain competitive in a government-controlled and regulated
environment.
